Environmental Consulting in Redwood City and the Peninsula

soil and groundwater remediation

Path Forward Partners provides environmental consulting in Redwood City and throughout the San Francisco Peninsula, from South San Francisco to Palo Alto. We help developers, property owners, and lenders manage soil, groundwater, and vapor issues on bayfront and infill redevelopment sites.

Environmental issues on Redwood City and Peninsula sites

The Peninsula bayfront includes former industrial, salt-production, and manufacturing properties, along with older commercial corridors that once hosted gas stations and dry cleaners. Housing and life-science redevelopment is common here, and bayfront sites bring fill and shallow groundwater into the environmental picture.

Peninsula projects are commonly overseen by the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), and San Mateo County Environmental Health, with local permitting through the city. Redwood City environmental consulting FAQ

What do lenders usually require for a Peninsula property?

Most lenders ask for a Phase I environmental site assessment, and a Phase II if the Phase I identifies recognized environmental conditions. We can also provide risk and liability assessments to help size remediation costs.

Do bayfront sites have special concerns?

Fill material, shallow groundwater, and legacy industrial use are common on bayfront parcels. A site-specific investigation shows which of these apply to your property.

Can you help with soil being exported from a project?

Yes. We evaluate soil for reuse and develop acceptance criteria so excess soil can be screened against a receiving site before it leaves yours.
